My journey began with a long, yet comfortable, 9-hour sleeper bus ride from Sukhothai, reminiscent of a trip from Manila to Ilocos. Arriving late at night, I was greeted by a city aglow with lights, the air thick with the tantalizing aroma of street food. As I strolled through the lively bar street, I dared to sample fried insects and sip on a refreshing Chang beer. The allure of Chiang Mai lies not just in its rich culture, but in the countless adventures that await—exploring jungles, crossing rivers, trekking mountains, savoring exotic Thai dishes, and forging new friendships.

Eager to explore every nook and cranny of this vibrant city, I rented a moped, which added a sense of freedom to my adventure. With the wind in my hair and my camera in hand, I cruised through bustling markets and serene backroads, ready to capture the essence of Chiang Mai. I especially enjoyed the local food, with spicy Pad Thai and a generous amount of fresh fruits and vegetables becoming my go-to meals. Each click of the shutter was an invitation to slow down and appreciate the moments unfolding around me. From the stunning temples to the beautiful landscapes, Chiang Mai offered the perfect blend of excitement and tranquility.
