Zhangjiajie

Avatar Mountains.

Welcome to my gallery! In 2009, I had the incredible opportunity to explore the breathtaking Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and let me tell you, it was like stepping into a dream. Just a four-and-a-half-hour journey from Shenzhen City, I arrived with my Nikon DSLR camera set to manual, ready to capture this surreal landscape. Famous for its unique sandstone pillars—some towering over 200 meters high—Zhangjiajie even inspired the floating mountains in the movie Avatar. How cool is that?

As I roamed around, I was in awe of these majestic formations, shaped by millions of years of erosion. The vibe here is wonderfully chill, with cloud-kissing mountains above and clear streams flowing through lush greenery. But I had some cheeky companions in the valley—macaques that were constantly grabbing at me and trying to sneak into my backpack! Armed with my wide-angle lens, I aimed to capture the peaceful beauty of this magical spot, while keeping an eye on those mischievous little monkeys. So, join me on this visual adventure as I share my experiences and the stunning sights I discovered.
