Pixels, Projects, and Play

"At the heart of my journey lies the belief that true creativity blossoms when storytelling takes center stage, transforming each frame into a captivating narrative."

I’ve always had a love for photography, starting out with film back in the day before making the switch to digital. That transition opened the door to not just photography editing, but also video editing. Back in the '90s, while working in the game industry, I soaked up a ton about computer graphics—everything from 3D modeling and texturing to character rigging, scene setup, lighting, and even character animation. Rendering those realistic images using ray tracing was a real test of patience, especially when a single frame could take over an hour! Watching my animations play out in game cut scenes was a proud moment for my 19-year-old self, especially working on designs for a Japanese software publisher. I even dabbled in video editing and a bit of 2D animation during that time.

Fast forward to today, and I’ve been busy producing crowdfunding campaigns for my designs on Indiegogo and Kickstarter, with at least four successful launches under my belt—one of which, Oomi, raised a whopping $1.8 million! Video production can be a tiring grind, so after nearly three years of juggling it as a side hustle alongside my day job, I decided to take a break. I still believe that while great visuals are eye candy, the heart of it all lies in storytelling. Lately, I’ve been itching to create again, focusing on 2D animation using Moho, and sometimes Procreate for those detailed seconds. These days, I create animations just for fun to keep my creativity flowing. Who knows what the future holds? If you have any projects in mind, just hit me up—I’d love to collaborate!
